Your stories belong to you.
The short version. We keep your stories private. We never sell your data. Only you and the family members you invite can read your book. You can export everything and delete your account at any time.
1. Who we are
Legacy of Faith is operated by [Your legal name / company] (“we,” “us”). You can contact us at hello@legacyoffaith.app.
2. What we collect
- Account information — your email address (if provided) and an anonymous user ID.
- Profile — name, birth year, hometown, church, denomination — only what you choose to share.
- Stories — the audio you record, the transcript of that audio, and the shaped chapter text.
- Photos — any photos you choose to attach to a chapter.
- Voice signature — an opt-in short sample of your voice, used only with your permission.
- Family Circle — names, relationships, and contact info for people you invite to read your book.
- Prayer requests & blessings — the text you write into the app.
- Subscription / order data — managed by the App Store, Google Play, or Stripe (for hardcover orders).
- Diagnostic logs — crash reports and performance metrics; never include your story content.
3. How we use it
- To shape your spoken story into a written chapter (we send the transcript to a language model — see “Third parties” below).
- To transcribe your audio (Whisper).
- To deliver blessings on their trigger date.
- To send invitation emails or texts when you invite family.
- To provide customer support if you ask.
We do not use your stories or voice for training third-party models, advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose other than running this app.
4. Third parties
The app talks to a handful of trusted providers strictly to deliver the service:
- Supabase — hosts your stories, audio, and photos. Privacy policy.
- Groq — transcribes your audio (Whisper). Privacy policy.
- Anthropic / OpenRouter / Groq (whichever is configured) — shapes your transcript into a chapter. Inputs and outputs are subject to the provider’s zero-retention policy where available.
- RevenueCat — manages your subscription state. Privacy policy.
- Stripe — processes hardcover book payments. Privacy policy.
- Resend — delivers email (invitations, reminders, support). Privacy policy.
- Apple / Google — distribute the app and manage in-app purchases.
5. Who can read your stories
By default, only you. When you add someone to your Family Circle, that person can read the chapters you’ve marked “kept,” but cannot edit, delete, or download originals. You can remove any family member at any time, which revokes their access immediately.
6. Your rights
- Export — Account → Export everything. You get a JSON file with all your data and signed URLs to your audio and photos.
- Delete — Account → Delete my account. Removes all stories, audio, photos, blessings, and family connections. Audio and photo files are erased from storage. This action is irreversible.
- Correct — Edit any story, recipient, blessing, or profile field inside the app at any time.
- If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you also have the right to request access to or restriction of your data. Email us.
7. Children
Legacy of Faith is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. Family Circle members who are minors should join only with a parent’s permission.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS 1.2+). Audio and photos are stored in private buckets accessible only via short-lived signed URLs. Voice samples are stored encrypted at rest. Row-Level Security policies prevent cross-account access at the database layer.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we’ll show you the new version in the app and ask you to acknowledge it before continuing.
